Wild Girls of the West
The smiles of Dora Hand, some pioneers recalled, triggered more revolver fights than all those of any other woman in the West. A well-known singer in Dodge Town, Kansas, the beautiful girl was shot and killed in 1878 by a cowhand named James “Spike” Kenedy. A posse was immediately organized to chase the killer down and bring him to justice. Amongst the users of the posse ended up Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, Charlie Bassett and Invoice Tilghman.
